call for speakers

Dear Colleagues,

I would be very grateful if you could bring the following request to the attention of relevant members of staff within your Library / Information service.
Coventry University Library are planning a Green Conference event for early Summer and are looking for speakers who would be prepared to come and share examples of good practice in ‘green librarianship’, talk about any innovative projects they have undertaken or are planning to undertake and to exchange ideas around ‘green libraries’.

The event itself is a one-day green libraries conference likely to be scheduled in the week of 11 June. We are looking for external speakers to join some internal speakers from Coventry University, which recently achieved a Green Gown award. The conference fees will be minimal, just enough to cover the catering and administration costs, and we envisage a mid-morning start to a mid-afternoon finish to allow speakers and delegates to travel. Speakers slots will be approximately 40 minutes, although we are happy to consider longer or shorter slots, and we will of course cover travel expenses.

Would this be something that might be of interest to someone in your organisation? We’re aware there hasn’t been a green event in the Midlands, or indeed elsewhere, for some time and we are well situated to attract delegates from neighbouring Universities in addition to those from further afield. We’d love to hear from you if you think you might have something to contribute or would just like to find out more.
Please contact Olivia Llewellyn either by phone or by email.
