Call for Proposals - International Conference on Performance Measurement in Libraries

 Final chance to submit your proposal for LibPMC 2021

This is your final chance to submit your proposal for LibPMC 2021! What library assessment activities have you done this year? What new changes have you had to put in place, either as an emergency response or planned improvements? What data and UX have you completed around these?

Submissions are welcome on any aspect of performance measurement and assessment of relevance to the library and information sector in the format of for papers, lightning talks, and panels.

• Closing date for proposals is 24 May at 17:45 GMT. Those submitting proposals will be notified of their status in July.
• Learn more and submit your proposal at the conference website. 
• All proposals will be subject to double-blind peer-review, should be in English, and should not have been published elsewhere nor submitted to another journal or conference.
• The conference takes place 2-4 November, in an entirely online format during the afternoon (UK time)
• The fee to attend the conference will be £50, with zero fee for students and anyone who is unable to pay.

About the conference

LibPMC brings together practitioners, researchers, educators and students interested in all aspects of performance measurement in library and information services in any context. The goal of library performance measurement and assessment is to understand how well a library is meeting stakeholder needs, with the aim of driving improvement. Key features of library performance measurement include a focus on the needs of stakeholders and communities, actively using qualitative and quantitative data to improve services and the user experience, and communicating the results and outcomes of assessment activities.

Past conferences have provided a mix of invited speakers, contributed papers and workshops designed to stimulate discussion, provide ideas for measuring and improving library performance, and develop new concepts and techniques to advance the field. The conference is the longest-running conference on this subject and is truly international, welcoming participants from all countries.

Call for submissions - QQML conference

 Following the vaccine Covid-19 progress worldwide the last stream of Abstract's Submissions deadline is set at March 30, 2021. However, the Conference is Hybrid including both virtual and in-person presentations.

We are happy for organizing the 13th Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML2021, 25-28 May 2021, Athens, Greece, http://qqml.org/ ).
QQML2021 is a Hybrid Conference including in-Person and Virtual presentations to account for the Covid-19 developments.
Two options of registrations are proposed http://qqml.org/registration/
This year (2021), we celebrate 13 years of successful QQML Conferences’ organization.
 
This is an Invitation to Participate in the conference and workshops, suggest a Plenary or Contributed Talk and to propose an Invited Session/s (3-6 talks) or a Workshop (more than 2 Sessions).

Call for peer-reviewers - Journal of New Librarianship (JoNL)

The Journal of New Librarianship (JoNL) is pleased to announce it has recently migrated to a new platform (OJS) and is generously being hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder University Libraries. As part of this transition and relaunch, and in keeping with the journal's commitment to diversity, equity, and plurality of viewpoints, JoNL is seeking subject experts with a diverse range of experiences to volunteer as potential peer reviewers. The volunteers will be added to our list of peer reviewers, to whom articles may be assigned for double-blind review based upon subject matter. Peer reviewers are provided a rubric when evaluating submissions, and volunteers are contacted no more frequently than twice a year to offer their time and expertise. Turn-around time for reviews is typically 30 days.

 

JoNL was established in 2016 as an independent open access LIS journal that provides an outlet for emerging and interdisciplinary scholarship that does not fit within the narrowly defined subject specialization of existing journals. JoNL is a Diamond open access publication in which authors retain full copyright of their work through CC-BY licensing. There are no processing fees, nor is there a cost to access published materials. Since its launch, JoNL has published 5 volumes (9 issues total), and is recognized in the Ulrich Periodical Index as a peer-reviewed academic journal.
