Editors Wanted

The Editorial Board of Library and Information Research (LIR) wishes to appoint a new Editorial Team. Library and Information Research is

 published three times a year
 the official journal of CILIP’s Library and Information Research Group (LIRG)
 prepared for publication online using ‘Open Journals Systems’

Dr Louise Cooke and Dr Graham Walton from Loughborough University are overseeing the selection process for the new Editorial Team on behalf of LIRG. Applications are invited from individuals or teams of up to three people who will ideally be:

1. Willing to embrace the full variety of Editorial duties

2. From either a practitioner or an academic background
3. Excellent communicators.

This role offers the opportunity to broaden skill sets, improve current awareness across a wide range of subject areas, extend their professional networks and enhance CVs. The team will be appointed for one year in the first instance and support will be provided during the handover period (September to December 2011). The Editorship is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses (e.g. travel costs to attend meetings) are covered by LIRG.

These should include a current CV and a statement of no more than 500 words outlining why you are interested in undertaking this role, and what you believe you can bring to the role. It is anticipated that the new editor(s) will be appointed no later than 30/6/2011.
