Heritage Week at NUI Maynooth Library

National Heritage Week  at NUI Maynooth Library, the Russell Library, the OPW-NUI Maynooth Archive and Research Centre at Castletown

Monday 25th August
Visit to the new NUI Maynooth Library and the World War I Exhibition in the Russell Library for staff from university, public and special libraries and archives
 Arrive 10 a.m. to John Paul II Library
10.00-11.00 Tour of new library
11.00-11.30 Tea coffee
11.30-12.30 Visit to Russell Library and World War I Exhibition

Launch of Teresa Brayton exhibition by Professor Philip Nolan, President of NUI Maynooth.  This event is being run in collaboration with Kildare County Council Library and Arts Service

Maynooth College 1914-1918: An exhibition to mark the centenary of the First World War

10.30-11.00 Tea/Coffee in Pugin Dining Room
11.00 -12.30  Guest lectures by Dr. David Murphy, Centre for Military History & Strategic Studies, NUI Maynooth Department of History and Barbara McCormack, Librarian, Special Collections & Tour of the Exhibition and Russell Library

Thursday 28th August
Visit to OPW-NUI May Maynooth Archive and Research Centre at Castletown House,Celbridge

There will be half-hourly tours of the Connolly Archive (letters of Louisa Connolly) from 5 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.  This will be followed by a guest lecture at 7.30 by Vanessa Waldon OPW “An Insight into Eighteenth Century dining in Castletown, Carton & Russborough.”
