As the CONUL representative on the editorial board of
SCONUL Focus I want to let you know that the next issue of SCONUL Focus (issue
64) is on the theme “knowing our customers and responding to their needs”
The date for submission of articles is 30th
June 2015. Articles are typically 1,500
to 2,000 words. SCONUL Focus is a professional journal and articles are
generally practice rather than research based.
The theme ties into the work of SCONUL’s User
Experience and Success Strategy Group – see http://www.sconul.ac.uk/page/user-experience-and-success
and for the terms of reference see http://www.sconul.ac.uk/page/user-experience-and-success-strategy-group.
You might wish to consider some of the topics pertinent to the work of this
group in relation to article submission.
Specifically you may have some good practice examples
related to:
Obtaining qualitative data (and acting on it) in
relation to user needs and behaviour (customer journey mapping, ethnographic
techniques, activities associated with CSE accreditation, focus groups
etc)
Specific service improvements instigated in relation
to NSS feedback
Meeting the needs of specific user groups (
researchers, students with disabilities, international students, distance
learners, etc)
The above is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but
some ideas related to the broader theme.
Articles for consideration should be submitted to Steve Rose,
Chair, Editorial Team,
SCONUL Focus
I am happy to answer any queries people considering
submitting might have.
