The LAI/CILIP Joint Annual Conference will be on 25th and 26th of March 2020 In Crown Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, Co Louth.The theme for the Conference is ‘Libraries: A World of Possibilities’. It will address the theme of ‘Libraries: A World of Possibilities’. We would like to hear from both members and non-members about the work happening in libraries across Ireland and beyond.We are inviting submissions from ALL types of libraries and information centres (including from students) to submit proposals for presentations and posters that cover any aspect of our theme, including, but not limited to:
- New or redesigned, repurposed, redeveloped, refurbished library spaces
- Regeneration of a community thanks to the library
- Technologies that open up the library to the world or bring ideas into the library
- Services which enhance the library
- Attitudes towards libraries and librarians
- Leadership in libraries including succession planning
- Teaching and learning that happens in libraries
The deadline for submissions of abstracts is midnight, Monday 19th January 2020.Notifications of whether your proposal has been successful will be sent during the week beginning 27th January 2020.Those who have been successful must confirm their acceptance and attendance at the conference no later than 5pm Friday 7th February 2020. Please be advised that all presenters have to pay the registration fee and have to be available to attend.Type of submissions:
- Parallel papers: 20 minute presentation followed by questions
Submit a 300 word (max) abstract describing that the presentation is about.
Please note the following:
- A presentation on a completed or current project that showcases the conference theme with a focus on the practical
- Presenters may be required to participate in a panel Q & A session
- Presenters may be recorded during live streaming. A recording of their talk and a copy of their slides may be published online after the conference.
- Papers may be included in either plenary or parallel sessions, but we will advise you accordingly.
- Presenters are required to submit the final version of their presentation by Wednesday, 18th March 2020.
- Presentation for papers should be created in MS PowerPoint or as a PDF.
- If you require any other technical support (other than laptop and screen), please let us know when you send in your abstract.
- Posters:
Submit a 100 word (max) abstract describing what the poster is about.
Please note the following:
- Poster presenter(s) are expected to be available during their allocated poster session time(s) as stated in the conference programme
- The poster should be of A1 portrait size and professionally printed. Posters should not be mounted on rigid backing as they will be displayed on poster boards.
- All expenses regarding design and printing are the responsibility of the presenter(s)
- The final version of the printed poster should be submitted as a PDF file for publishing online after the conference
