Laura Montgomery, Communications Manager (Library Relations) with Taylor & Francis, will speak at The Librarian as Academic Author: Further Developing Your Scholarly Writing seminar at Maynooth University Library on 9 November. Below is a brief outline of what Laura will cover:
Academic
writing on library and information science is essential for moving the field
forward, but having an article published is only the beginning. Approximately
2.5 million articles are published every year in around 28,000 peer-reviewed
journals, and yet the average number of article citations in the Journal Citation
Reports is approximately 1 per year. Around 50% of articles are never
cited. So how can you ensure that your article makes an impact? In this session
Laura Montgomery talks through what you can do to promote your article, and how
publishers can help in the dissemination of your research.
