Building an academic article around the literature

This presentation will look at what is involved in a literature survey, including the identification of relevant literature, absorbing the key messages and trends in the literature and synthesising them in a readable fashion. I will draw on experience with two books from my earlier career on information sources in computer-aided design and online/CD-Rom literature searching and, more recently, an article on Communicating new library roles to enable digital scholarship  and an upcoming literature review for the 2018 themed issue of New Review ofAcademic Librarianship on Positioning the academic library within the institution: structures and challenges.
